Tumpak Sewu: A Year Between Dream and Reality

In 2025, while taking a helicopter ride above Victoria Falls, I found myself imagining what it would feel like to stand beneath a powerful waterfall one day. A year later, that thought became reality at Tumpak Sewu. Tumpak Sewu feels like a giant hole in the Earth’s surface, with countless waterfalls pouring into its center. Standing at the bottom, surrounded by falling water from every direction, I could feel a powerful energy brushing through my entire body.

Some local beliefs consider the area beneath the falls sacred and avoid swimming there out of respect. Standing in that space, I could understand why. The experience reminded me how often thoughts combined with strong feelings seem to find their way into reality. Indonesia continues to surprise me—not just with beautiful landscapes, but with places that leave a lasting impression long after the journey ends.
