Gunung Bromo: The Breath of Earth
Landing on the moon, that’s how I would describe my visit to Mount Bromo. The vast volcanic landscape feels almost otherworldly, and perhaps that is why millions of people are drawn here every year.
That morning, two eruptions occurred in the distance. For the first time in my life, I felt as if I could hear the Earth breathing. The deep rumble echoed across the landscape, making me feel both small and deeply connected to the planet beneath my feet. Before sleep, I often practice a visualization of energy flowing from my head through my body, then deep into the layers of soil and rock, all the way to the Earth’s fiery core before returning to me. Standing at Bromo, listening to the volcanoes awaken, that imagination felt real. For a brief moment, I wasn’t just observing nature, I was part of it.
Thank you, Universe.
