Time Travel in Split. Walking Among Ancients in Diocletian’s Palace

This is my first entry into a medieval town in Croatia, a country where Eastern and Western Europe meet. Roman architecture, limestone buildings, the turquoise sea, and Mediterranean cuisine make this place one of the best destinations in Europe. Visiting Diocletian’s Palace feels like traveling back in time to the 4th century. I could imagine being surrounded by ancestors, masters, teachers, or other souls I may have crossed paths with before, learning and sharing knowledge with them.

Walking inside the palace is like navigating a maze; every corner I turn reveals a new surprise. In front of the palace lies a beautiful port lined with cafés and restaurants. To the right of the palace, there’s a lively local market offering fresh produce and regional cuisine. I must also mention the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, believed to be the oldest Catholic cathedral still in use in its original structure in the world.
