Batang Ai, about 275 km east of Kuching near the Malaysia Kalimantan border, was my destination. While I didn’t manage to visit the national park, I stumbled upon something even better: the most amazing Mandi Sungai (river dipping) experience ever! Spending three days and two nights here, I found the river to be a perfect companion. The water was incredibly clear and refreshing, and the riverbed was scattered with colorful, unique stones. When sunlight touched the water, it transformed into a magical, fairytale like spectacle.
