Maliau Basin, The Lost World of Sabah
Hidden deep in Sabah lies Maliau Basin, one of the world’s most pristine and biodiverse primary rainforest conservation areas. Trek along the Maliau Rim, where the basin’s vast bowl-shaped formation has created an isolated ecosystem home to unique species of flora and fauna. A heaven for waterfall lovers, the basin is home to Maliau Falls, its crown jewel, a spectacular seven-tiered waterfall with cascades reaching up to 18 metres high. This once-in-a-lifetime journey is designed for nature lovers like you, ready to trek deep into one of Earth’s last great wildernesses.

| [ Day 1 ] | Kuala Lumpur > Tawau Arrive at Tawau. Take a 3 hour drive to MB Study Center. Along the way, stop over for lunch, and visit Observation Tower for Panoramic view of MB. Check into Standard Room for 1 night. After dinner, participate in short briefing abt MB trekking. |
| [ Day 2 ] | Agathis Camp > Ginseng Camp > Ginseng Falls After breakfast, take a short drive to Agathis Camp. Start 4 hrs hike to Ginseng Camp from Agathis Camp. Check into campsite for 2 nights. After lunch, relax and visit at Ginseng Falls. |
| [ Day 3 ] | Ginseng Camp > Maliau Falls > Ginseng Camp After breakfast, take 3.5 hrs to Maliau Falls (highlight). Spend a wonderful afternoon and lunch near the falls. At 2pm, hike back to Ginseng Camp. Free and easy. |
| [ Day 4 ] | Ginseng Camp > Agathis Camp > Tawau Morning, after breakfast, hike 4 hours to return to Agathis Camp. Drive to Tawau Town. Check into hotel for 1 night. Free and easy. |
| [ Day 5 ] | Tawau > Kuala Lumpur Morning, transfer to airport for your flight home. Tour ends. |
PRICE DETAIL
Tour Fee Includes:
• Accommodation ( a combination of hotel and campsite)
• Land transport for travel between Tawau and MB Study Center
• MB Conservation entrance fees
• Guided jungle trekking fees as indicated in the itinerary
• Meals include 4 breakfast, 3 packed lunch, 3 dinner
Tour Fee Excludes:
• Flight KL ><Tawau. Once the trip is confirmed IWTP will provide tour members with flight details for self-purchase
• Hotel in Tawau before and after MB tour
• Meals estimated RM20 per meal. Tour: RM40
• Porter fees for personal belongings. RM120 for 12kg per day. RM40 for additional 5kg per day
• Tipping for the trekking guide
• Expenses during free time or optional activities
• Travel Insurrance
Payment Terms:
A non-refundable deposit of 60% of full payment is required to secure the booking (unless the tour is canceled by IWTP). The balance fee must be paid by the booking deadline or when the tour is fully booked.
