Shirakawa-go's reputation for its idyllic winter setting is well-deserved, but I opted to visit during the autumn. Walking through the village was like stepping back 250 years into a world of traditional gassho zukuri farmhouses. I envisioned a life of farming and animal care, which added to the experience. Traveling is a passion of mine, largely because it offers a chance to explore different times and places, enriching my journey through history and culture.
