The Land of Giants. Chobe National Park, BOtswana

In Botswana, animals roam everywhere, but in Chobe National Park, the experience takes on a different scale. I call it the “land of giants,” because here, elephants rule the land and river.

A river cruise revealed herds swimming gracefully across the Chobe River, while hippos surfaced nearby and crocodiles lazed on the banks. Surrounded on all sides, I realised this was not a zoo, it was the animals’ land, and I was the guest.

The game drive pulled me even closer. We drove alongside elephants so near I could see the folds on their skin and the rhythm of their steps. Chobe offers something rare; the chance to experience wildlife at arm’s length, with no barrier but respect.
